The 2024 Tianfu Book Fair will host a significant national publishing industry event – the 12th National Publication Library Distribution and Construction Exhibition (hereafter referred to as “the Trade Fair”). This collaboration marks the first co-organization of these two significant events.

Inaugurated in 2013, the National Publication Library Distribution and Construction Exhibition has become the fourth pillar of China’s publishing industry exhibitions, following the National Book Expo, Beijing International Book Fair, and Beijing Book Fair. Distinguished as the nation’s largest publishing industry gathering, it uniquely bridges the realms of publishing, culture, and education, facilitating direct library acquisitions. Through its eleven successful editions, the Trade Fair has played a pivotal role in standardizing library supply markets, catalyzing book publishing, enriching library collections, and championing nationwide reading initiatives. Its consistent acclaim underscores its position as the quintessential market-oriented professional exhibition in the field.

The Trade Fair’s mission is to reinforce the central role of state-owned cultural enterprises in the library supply market, safeguard the publishing ecosystem’s integrity, and propel the qualitative advancement of library supply services. To achieve these objectives, the Trade Fair will offer a platform for libraries nationwide to engage in real-time, on-site procurement, a showcase for publishing houses to spotlight their premier publications, and a forum fostering dialogue between suppliers and readers, thereby enabling a deeper understanding of evolving literary preferences.

The 2024 Trade Fair will occupy an 8,000-square-meter space within Hall 3 of the Tianfu Book Fair’s main exhibition area. This grand event is sponsored by the Publishers Association of China and Sichuan Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group, with the 2024 Tianfu Book Fair Organizing Committee as the organizer. The event’s co-organizers include Anhui Xinhua Media Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Phoenix Xinhua Bookstore Group Co., Ltd., Guangdong Xinhua Issuing Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Xinhua Bookstore Group Co., Ltd., Xinhua Winshare Publishing and Media Co., Ltd., and Beijing Rentian Bookstore Group Co., Ltd. The event will invite approximately 500 publishing houses and over 600 libraries from across the country. With an expansive array of more than 100,000 titles on display, this year’s event is poised to surpass all previous editions in scale and scope. Complementing the exhibition, the Trade Fair will host a series of thought-provoking activities centered on the theme “Jointly Maintaining the Industry Ecosystem and Promoting High-Quality Development of Library Supply and Construction,” further enhancing the Tianfu Book Fair’s brand resonance and influence.
